Humble Beginnings…

San Juan Homes was established in 2017 by Erik Winther and Cobey and Christa Hampton. Erik has a long family history in the building industry, Starting with his father being a general contractor in Arizona. Erik received his degree from NAU and later went back to work for his father building homes. Fast forward 15 years, and Erik found himself relocating to Pagosa Springs Colorado. Erik landed here in 2013 with plans to start a new construction company. In order to maintain best practices he became a home inspector to learn the “ins and outs” of local building to discover what methods of construction are the most effective for the area. In 2017 Winther teamed up with the Hamptons and they started out in a joint partnership to construct Spec homes. The relationship worked so well, the trio continued their relationship and all joined under one flag which became San Juan Homes. In 2018 they expanded into Custom homes. Since then our company has grown rapidly. In 2021 San Juan Homes constructed their new 5,000 Square foot warehouse with offices and still growing strong!
